Coffee Lofts is located in Kansas City’s historic Garment District. The rapid growth of this area in early part of the twentieth century established Kansas City as one of the nation’s leaders in the clothing industry. Ironically the Coffee Lofts building was constructed in 1916 for the Burd & Fletcher Printing Company.
The design of Coffee Lofts reflects the national trends in commercial architecture that emerged during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is based upon the “Chicago School” of commercial architecture, utilizing new technology and materials such as steel framing, concrete beams and ceilings. This type of sturdy construction was needed to support the heavy weight of the printing company’s large steel presses and reams of paper.
Today at Coffee Lofts you will find a variety of elegant one and two bedroom floor plans with large windows offering sweeping views of the historic Garment District and North to the Missouri River. The concrete construction of this building offers residents a quiet environment within their home and efficiency in heating and cooling.
Coffee Lofts’ amenity package includes a contemporary clubroom for entertaining and a fitness facility with a full range of cardio and strength training machines. There’s also an outdoor patio area, attached parking garage, resident storage and video security entry system.
Coffee Lofts name was inspired by the near by Folgers Coffee Plant which has filled this historic neighborhood which its rich aromas for many years.
