What’s Up In Downtown?

SPORTS – Who’s ready for some baseball??? Royal’s Fan Fest is back this Friday and Saturday only at Bartle Hall in Downtown Kansas City. The event will feature autograph sessions with current and former Royals, interactive games for fans of all ages, main stage programming and more!

MUSIC – Don’t miss Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear on stage at the Truman in the East Crossroads at 7:30pm on Saturday. From an under-the-radar act that thrived on word of mouth around Kansas City, they have became purveyors of one of modern folk’s most unique points of view. “We’re not classified as a mother-son band,” says Madisen. “But make no mistake, that is my mother.”

PERFORMANCE – For one night only… Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives return to the Folly Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday. This is a rare opportunity to see one of Kansas City’s most beloved Americana groups, as they return to the Folly for a memorable night.

CULTURE – Kansas City Symphony presents Enchanting and Exotic: Firebird, Aladdin and Rachmaninoff featuring pianist Alon Goldstein in this breathtaking Classical Series weekend at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
